Position Name: Shipping/Receiving Supervisor
Description:
Vermillion Incorporated, a leader in interconnect cable solutions for the military and aerospace industries, is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Supervisor to fill 1st shift opening in our manufacturing facility. The primary function is to ensure incoming and outgoing product quality by overseeing the receiving and shipping departments. This includes reviewing both product and documentation to ensure customer quality and delivery requirements are met. This is accomplished through interaction with multiple internal departments, as well as suppliers, customers and source inspectors.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Confer with Quality Assurance Manager to resolve quality concerns with incoming shipments, including both product and documentation issues
- Confer with Quality Assurance Manager to establish quality criteria and inspection plans, as applicable, for incoming and outgoing shipments
- Ensures outgoing shipments meet all customer requirements, including product, shipping methods, dates, and documentation
- Ensures product in the shipping area is shipped according to customer delivery date requirements
- Schedule and interface with customer and government source inspectors, as applicable
- Interface with various customer portals to schedule and/or record shipments
- Interface with transportation providers, on the customer’s and company’s behalf
- Analyze and resolve customer purchase order or documentation issues
- Analyze and resolve incoming/shipping/inventory quantity discrepancies

Position Name: Inventory Clerk (1st Shift)
Description:
- Print all IDs for assemblies, bag and attach, and bulk shipments
- Pull and issue parts and/or tools to production employees, as needed
- Build “bag and attach” kits
- Stock received material, filling shortages if necessary
- Process location changes
- Record all transactions for traceability
- Perform cycle counts
- Close job operations for material issuance, as needed
- Keep inventory department neat and organized
- Remit Kanban cards to Purchasing department
- Perform all duties in accordance with Vermillion Quality Management System and Safety standards, using situation-appropriate tools and protective equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned

Position Name: Manufacturing Engineer
Description:
- Provide engineering technical support and design input for projects
- Conceive, develop, and implement manufacturing processes for bulk cable, wiring harnesses, conduit assemblies, and various interconnect/electromechanical assemblies that fit Vermillion’s technical expertise
- Provide a wide range of technical and management expertise in the various aspects of manufacturing
- Technically document procedures and processes
- Provide an interface between operations, sales, and engineering functions
- Ensure that requirements for efficient processes, practices, and technologies for manufacturing are addressed on a timely basis
- Plan for and implement new programs and products into production in a timely and cost effective manner
- Prepare and present relevant information for make or buy decisions and program reviews
- Identify potential manufacturing-related risks on new and developing programs; develop risk reduction plans to eliminate them
- Define tooling and manufacturing requirements for new programs
- Develop cost and operational justifications for acquisition of major tooling
- Provide technical support to the shop floor for immediate corrective actions
- Provide input as requested for manufacturing-related portions of cost estimates for new and continuing programs
- Represent Operations in new production programs to ensure that manufacturing requirements are fully understood by Program Management and Design Engineering, and that program and design engineering requirements are in turn supported by Manufacturing Engineering and affected Operations functions
- Technically document procedures and processes
- Develop new automated processes utilizing the latest technology
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, Quality, Program Management, and outside vendors to set and meet schedules that will accommodate customers’ delivery requirements
- Conduct root-cause analysis and propose corrective actions for continuous improvement
- Actively participate on RPI (Rapid Product Improvement) teams and 5S workshops
- Provides resolutions to manufacturing problems including, but not limited to, processes, machines, or programming problems
- Supports facility and corporate strategic goals
- Creates and conducts structured training for manufacturing personnel as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A four-year technical degree (e.g. BSEE, BSEET, BSME, BSMET, or equivalent) required
- At least two years experience in manufacturing required; cable/harness industry preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes together with work measurement and work standards
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Proficient in technical writings and good documentation skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications required
- Demonstrated analytical expertise including ability to plan, resolve problems effectively and establish priorities
- CAD, AutoCad, and Inventor Professional Series experience preferred
- MRP system experience
- Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, including Microsoft Access
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of quality workmanship standards (i.e. ANSI, Mil-Specifications, ISO)

Position Name: Aerospace Assembly Technician (1st Shift)
Description:
- Layout – Routing of wiring bundles on a form board, cutting to specific length, hand cabling of wire bundle to specified lay ratios, installing IDs at specified lengths
- Strip/Crimp – Stripping back wire at specified lengths and crimping on contacts/wire lugs, use various hand-operated or automated tools to perform strip/crimp tasks
- Solder Sleeves – Stripping shielded and/or jacketed wire to specified length, exposing shield and/or inner conductor, installing solder sleeves, which may or may not include jumper wire
- Insertion – Inserting crimped and empty contacts into various types of connectors, ensuring proper seating and checking retention
- Torque – Tightening connector assemblies and back shells to torque specifications
- Tape – Installing miscellaneous types and widths of tape by machine or by hand to meet specified overlap requirements
- Close/Band – Installing miscellaneous types of bands to secure shield and/or metal over braiding to connectors and back shells
- Develop an understanding of the principles of continuity and operation of test equipment
- Perform all duties in accordance with Vermillion Quality Management System and Safety standards, using situation-appropriate tools and protective equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Knowledge of basic hand tools required
- Ability to use measuring tools to measure lengths accurately and precisely is required; certain responsibilities may require precision to within 1/32 inch

- Occasional local pickup and delivery may be required
- Collaborates and communicates within all departments to ensure shipping and receiving expectations are met
