About the Role

The Planner plays a key role in supporting Manufacturing Engineering by developing and maintaining build-to packages that ensure efficient and accurate production of electro-mechanical and interconnect assemblies. This includes generating manufacturing bills of materials (MBOMs), routings, and detailed process documentation. The Planner collaborates across departments to support production, assess the cost impact of design changes, determine tooling requirements, and ensure timely release of new and modified products.

 Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of manufacturing bills of materials (MBOM’s) and manufacturing routings to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Assists in the development, release and maintenance of all manufacturing documents process flow charts, work instructions, control plans, supplemental data files etc. to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Responsible for sustaining engineering activities including but not limited to the implementation of PCR’s, ECN’s VPS, MBOM and Routing updates
  • Determines tooling requirements for assemblies
  • Provide engineering technical support to manufacturing
  • Communicates design concerns, drawing errors, interpretation issues, component incompatibilities and possible manufacturing enhancements to the applicable Program Management Services representative. 
  • Prepares Build-to-Print quote form with material take-off and labor estimates and supplies the finished form to sales for final pricing
  • Assesses the cost impact of customer changes and prepares material and labor estimates for sales.
  • Technically document procedures and processes
  • Provide technical support to purchasing, operations, and sales.
  • Assists in the Planning and implementation of new programs and products into production in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Assists Manufacturing Engineers in assessing the cost impact of customer changes in order to develop a cost estimate for sales.
  • Support continuous improvement activities related to production processes (Kaizen events and 6S workshops)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in an engineering discipline or 2 years of manufacturing experience in a custom make to order environment; interconnect industry experience preferred
  • CAD experience: AutoCAD, Inventor Professional, Siemens NX experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Professional appearance and a positive attitude always required
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Microsoft Windows and Office applications experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and flow charts
  • Strong math skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Cooperate with others and treats all with respect.
  • Accepts responsibility for own actions, accountable for project deliverables and goals.
  • Willingly to accept feedback from others.
  • Working knowledge of quality workmanship standards (i.e. ANSI, Mil-Specifications, ISO)
  • ERP system experience
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks
  • Dependability and punctuality
  • This position requires the employee to have clear vision at 20 inches or less (with or without the use of personal corrective eyewear or a company-provided magnifying glass) as well as color vision in order to identify and distinguish colors
