About the role

The Mold Operator uses molding tools and potting materials to process to encase cables and wire harnesses in exterior molding.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble products according to verbal or written instructions, or by following drawings/diagrams
  • Prepare cable jackets and mold tools for use in molding process
  • Measure and mix compounds for molding and potting
  • Fill components with potting material
  • Operate convection oven to assemble molds for injection molding
  • Move cables and mold assemblies in and out of press machine
  • Set up and mark components with transfer pad machine.
  • Clean all utensils and work areas, safely disposing of chemicals in designated containers
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools
  • Ability to precisely measure liquids, lengths, weights and make basic calculations
  • Ability to use basic hand tools
  • Must have clear vision at 20 inches, with or without the use of corrective eyewear or a magnifying glass
  • Must have color vision
