About the role

The Business Development Manager utilizes extensive and up-to-date knowledge of market conditions to build and sustain key customer relationships, identify business prospects, and negotiate and close sales opportunities. This individual is responsible for expanding Vermillion Incorporated’s market presence by achieving maximum sales potential for products and/or services offered by the company.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies and goals to increase sales defined by the organizations long-term strategic goals
  • Monitor all major programs for company’s products and services
  • Prospect for new clientele and connect Vermillion on new platforms and programs with existing customers
  • Track and update sales data through company CRM
  • Forecast, close, and deliver on sales targets
  • Follow up on all Requests for Quote (RFQ) from current and potential customers
  • Travel with Vermillion’s manufacturing team to make sales calls and promote business at trade shows and potential clientele places of business
  • Maintain exemplary working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support company values, vision, direction, and strategic goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (strongly preferred)
  • Five or more years of outside sales experience, preferably in a related, technical manufacturing environment, to include program management experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Company products and manufacturing processes
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
  • Ability to develop and present effective sales presentations
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers, potential customers, manufacturing representatives, and Company employees
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to frequently work alone and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel regularly
  • Strong attention to detail
