Expediter
About the Role
The Expediter plays a critical role in keeping production running efficiently by ensuring materials, parts, and information flow smoothly across departments. This position works closely with purchasing, inventory, production, and program management teams to prevent shortages, eliminate delays, and support on-time delivery of products.
As the operational bridge between supply chain functions and the production floor, the Expediter monitors material availability, reviews production schedules, and coordinates priorities to ensure jobs are ready to build when needed. When shortages or disruptions occur, the Expediter quickly identifies solutions, communicates with the appropriate teams, and moves materials or resources to keep production moving.
This role is highly active and requires moving throughout the facility during the shift to stage materials, fulfill shortages, and monitor production needs in real time. The Expediter also helps identify potential bottlenecks, facilitates discussions to resolve production challenges, and supports cross-functional coordination that improves operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:

- Monitoring the flow of materials, parts, and components to ensure they are available for scheduled production
- Quickly addressing and resolving material shortages on the production floor
- Ensuring jobs are fully staged and ready for production
- Moving and staging materials for production as they are required
- Reviewing production schedules and purchase orders to determine delivery priorities
- Coordinating with purchasing, inventory, production, and program management teams to maintain workflow
- Facilitating discussions to address bottlenecks or production issues
- Identifying and mitigating potential disruptions before they impact production
- Cross-training to support additional inventory and supply chain functions as needed
About You
You are highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where quick decisions and clear communication are essential. You enjoy solving problems, coordinating between teams, and ensuring that operations run smoothly.
You are comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously and responding quickly when production needs change. You work well both independently and collaboratively, and you take pride in maintaining accuracy and accountability in material tracking and coordination.

- Experience working with ERP systems, MRP planning, or supply chain software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory tracking systems

- The ability to collaborate effectively across departments to maintain operational efficiency
